Chingo volcano between Guatemala and El Salvador

Chingo volcano between Guatemala and El Salvador If you're starting out on the mountain, the summit is not to be missed. The height of this volcano is 1.775 meters over sea level.

Side of Guatemala is located in the department of Jutiapa at the border crossing into El Salvador called San Cristobal.

You can ascend from both countries. The trail starts climbing and to a considerable height, requiring up no more than 800 meters.

Although the climate in the region is often warm, the ascent to the volcano Chingo is fresh thanks to its altitude, wind, and the lush forest protection from the sun throughout the trip, which begins in a privately owned coffee plantations.

Chingo Volcano name

Still have no idea where it comes from his name, but in Guatemala, Chingo is a synonym for quite ... An unspecified large amount ... So in Guatemala frequently for a long way to go, we say "lack a load."

Not to be confused with the similar "fuck" and its variation "shitload" of "I Ching" which means annoy or harass. Chingo let's leave that alone is used as the unit of measure:)

Being a natural accident border, has the elements of triangulation are located outside the forest boundary, and between the trees were removed by way of "border road" to detail the border.

Directions to Volcán Chingo

Take the Road to Salvador and two hours after it reaches the border of San Cristobal. Just about 200 meters from the border crossing is a right full sales and step vans. It should be this way.

Continuing on this path without detours and after a short stretch of road take left over the bridge, a strange current of water passing to the right of the road and then a small village that must be going through.

After this the road continues without interruption until a stretch of dirt road, take a left cross to the next junction.

Here a road goes right and one is internal to the left on private property. Here one must ask permission and begin the ascent.

Difficulty climbing

Chingo Volcano is a volcano not difficult, it is cool and the road is clear.
