When you get closer you realize that from their yellow, white is seen from a distance are many details that adorn the entire front of an elegant and beautiful.

Members of the Religious Order of Mercy (Mercedarios) obtained the building permit, land and support to end an early work he saw the light for 1583 but it suffered by the earthquakes that plagued the colonial city.

Soon his efforts bore fruit as a new building opened in 1767.

With their yellow and white facade is decorated creatively with details and spiral columns.

In the top and center is the image of San Pedro Nolasco Mercedaria who founded the Order in the thirteenth century.

Also front and center in front of the window shows the image of Our Lady of Mercy.


Location

It is located on 1st Street West and 6th Avenue North.

Follows from Central Park to the Corner Bakery Arcade (opposite the Park and Cathedral of San José ), from there you'll see the Arco de Santa Catalina .

At the end of the Calle del Arco reach the church of La Merced.
