This volcano is on the travel path of most tourists, alike, on the agenda of every climber.

His rise is not exactly suitable for beginners, although many of them have risen as initiation into the mountain.

Is a few minutes from La Antigua Guatemala. First you take the road to Santa Maria de Jesus, and once registered in the municipality, you can start the climb.

It usually takes note of who have data up to search in case someone gets lost.

Between trails and the road

The most obvious route is the road that climbs to the top. The climate has affected the way that parts completely impassable by car, but you can upload a large part in a 4x4 car. In fact have come from many countries caravan to upload to the summit in offroad racing cars.

But this path is quite long, so the start, usually done by shortening the route by mistake.

It is highly recommended that these aberrations are taken only if you know someone well, as is quite common for groups of hikers lost. In fact, fire up all the time to recover lost clusters.

Agua, Hunapú
During the ascent are crossing each distance, and because there is a tradition of ordeal climb up the stone chapel located on the top. Same for many beginners, just go up and is penance.

The first thing that reached to enjoy the scenery, the valley and the village at the foot of the volcano.

The whole road is surrounded by greenery and is usually quite fresh.

La Herradura

Agua, Hunapú
Already at the top is the section corresponding to a channel where they descend rock rolling stone and gives it a little more adventure travel.

For some in their first visit, especially when climbing at night, can be a bit intimidating.

Similarly, it is advisable to take proper precautions by the loose soil.

It is equally a sign that the top is next.

Near the top

In the top roads become more narrow and wet. It reaches to enjoy a different forest and grasslands are many. This is typically at rest and groups eager to arrive and as always, there are roads full of curves but more rested, or some more direct but require more leg strength.

At the top of the Agua Volcano

Upon entering the crater first thing is the latest cross currency and Chapel Rock. Here is also a baseball field where hikers camp. During December, the entire area is filled.

The scenery is nice and is the memory of many who began their lives here on the mountain.

It recommended a promotion for the agenda of any climber, but it is worth saying that is probably the volcano where most attacks have been recorded.

The recommendation is to get into good physical condition as a group, without separating or do not advertise much noise.
