Tajumulco Volcano

First we learn a little mountaineering federation of Guatemala, but the only thing they said was "if they are lost to follow up."
So we bought tickets to San Marcos in Marquensita transport in the pulman to get comfortable. We buy them in advance for what you do not have the very day, good decision because when we arrived at 6 am to transport and had no tickets for that hour.
We boarded the bus 3 friends and I, after about 4 hours of travel I can not tell because I was asleep, we got to San Marcos. We enjoyed a bit of the place as averiguábamos as Tajumulco reached, as it was Easter and it was Friday, we were fortunate to arrive just after he left the last bus to Tajumulco of the week (or so they said).
We gave up so easy
Rather he saw extra excitement to the trip. We compared the terminal to wait for some transport. Iéndonos ended in a minibus that took us to the intersection of Ixiguán, which is a very famous place in San Marcos and sure it will give the reference (left Tajumulco Ixchiguán way).
There we got out and asked some people what we were doing, they pointed us to a dirt road where we walk first down then up, then a right turn about two hours later, a pickup truck took us to cross Tajumulco.

At that time, that was several years ago, at that intersection there was nothing more than earth and stones. The dirt road was in the right upward toward Tacaná Ixchiguán and down to the left. On the sides, a ravine to the right and left quite respectable and the two roads, mountains quite fussy.
We had no idea where we were, but we were happy the landscape of that place, was a little after twelve noon and the clouds were at the height of the road, he felt a cold delicious encouraged us to move forward.
Right in front of us a pretty big sign saying "Tajumulco 10 km" and had an arrow pointing the way down, it seemed strange that out down, but did not give him importance, thinking that led to the volcano and started walking .
Hours passed and we kept going down, we were tired, but back was worse, we keep only looking for a place to camp that was not very exposed.
At the time a truck came and gave us pull up Tajumulco, but surprise was not the volcano, was the town, 10 kilometers from the volcano.
Frustrated and tired looking for a hotel to sleep, just had a pension and how much money we had not let us sleep in a cellar that had, where you could see in every direction, mountains dark and gloomy. Here we dined and slept in our stores.
At 4 o'clock the next day, heralded by the barking dogs give warning of our presence, we returned by the same route as last night we had reached that town, the cold was disturbing, but not so much sadness had not achieved the goal, despite that, we take to take some photos and admire a small river with us for a while.

Seven hours later we were back at the crossing Tajumulco, with nothing else to do decided to take some pictures of the scenery and go to some small hills that were on the side of the road. But every time we went up to one another behind the higher we climbed, too, until one of them showed us the beautiful image of the colossus Tajumulco challenging our strength and determination.

Suddenly we were walking towards the crest of this gentleman who called us like a magnet called iron shrapnel from the earth.
Were 8 hours away from small forests, hills fooling the eye and made us think as long as she was about.

away from the sea
Valleys filled with clouds that were circulating before us like a flock of white sheep ready for shearing and beautiful views of the neighboring volcano Tacaná.
At about 8 pm we finished our journey, tired but happy to have seen one of the best scenes that exist in Guatemala.
Best of all, helpful and friendly people of San Marcos, incredible views, evening and even more so, the dawning over 4,000 meters above sea level. If you want to feast your eyes and breathe fresh air, visit this colossus, the highest point in Central America and located here in Guatemala.
