Laguna de Santa Rosa Ayarza

In the south-central area Guatemala approximately 101 kilometers from the capital, in the department of Santa Rosa, surrounded by green mountains lie the calm waters of La Laguna de Ayarza. "
This is a natural resource which has not yet arrived pollution.
Is a source of income for villagers in the vicinity for its plentiful fish, crabs and snails.
This natural wonder has a temperate climate, with a cool breeze that welcomes all who visit, this makes it a very welcoming place with excellent camping areas on the banks of the sweet waters.
Few things compare to an evening at the shore with a landscape like this, simply makes the next morning the sun can wake up, get up and watch the breathtaking sunrise colorful.
When the sun is hiding the beauty of the lagoon rises and the landscape is magically transformed into a layer of silver, where the traveler is astonished to see one of the beauties of Guatemala.
It is certainly a worthwhile evening look and make the trip unforgettable for the natural color.
When the night covering the place you can see a stage decorated with millions of stars, stars with its light is reflected in the waters of Ayarza.
Nearly always the sky remains clear and is accompanied by an enabling environment for a campfire and a cup of coffee or chocolate, where only you can hear the sigh of the wind the song of the crickets and the call of the fishermen ....!! !
How to arrive?
The route starts out along the road to Santa Catarina Barberena Pinula heading of Barberena to Nueva Santa Rosa, then to Casillas Casillas after the journey continues on a dirt road passing through the town of Tapalapa, an hour's walk from this population is a viewpoint, "we suggest that you stop to appreciate the view."
After the gazebo at about ten minutes of road before the village of Ayarza the left side is the entrance to the lagoon, is not signposted so you should inquire with the locals, then start a decline of approximately one km to the shores of La Laguna.
Also if they can travel by bus, parked at the bus terminal in Zone 4, these buses are directed to the village of Ayarza the ticket cost is Q12.00 to the entrance of the lagoon, to return to city must walk to the town of Ayarza and there board a bus to take them to Jutiapa cost Q5.00 (buses every hour until Sunday) of Jutiapa return to Guatemala Q15.00 cost.
Recommendations:
-If traveling by car is four wheel drive to reach the shore of the lagoon.
-Take the necessary equipment for camping.
-Bring enough water to drink because of the lake should be boiled well water.

"There is no cost to enter the lagoon, the best contribution you can do is not to soil or alter the natural life of the place.
