San Pedro volcano.

Panajachel and San Pedro, on the shores of Lake Atitlan is perhaps seem the most visited of the lake.

Although both have Guatemalan and foreign visits, Panajachel has been formed over time as a joint destination while San Pedro remains mostly in the foreign preference.

Usually in the San Pedro can be reached by boat from Panajachel.

You can also get from the American Highway passing first through Santa Clara la Laguna.

Some restaurants are even owned by foreigners who have decided to stay and live in San Pedro.

Almost two boat docks and differ in tranquility.

One leads directly to the area where tourists disembark and penetrate through a steep slope to the restaurants and lodgings. The other is more quiet and spacious, less crowded and restaurants with different specialties.

The landscape is as beautiful as in other banks of Lake Atitlan.

San Pedro is a relaxed and tranquil destination, a "place to be" as they say.

To get to San Pedro

The tour continues to get from the crossing to Solola (down), but following the Interamerican Highway, such as downward facing Quetzaltenango.

Later a cross to the left leads you leave the main road to reach Santa Clara La Laguna. From here follow the "Devil's hooks" to continue a steep decline.

Be achieved by following down a small town on the shores of Lake Atitlan and just, almost imperceptibly along the trail will climb to Face Crystal or Maya . It is advisable to ask because it has a magnificent view of Lake and to the San Pedro volcano .

The trip can be completed as to Panajachel, on one day return. Likewise, it is advisable to stay to enjoy the best of San Pedro.
